Croton Landing to Croton Point Park – 10K

From Taconic Elliot Lee:

This out and back / out and back 10K loop runs through Croton Landing to front door of Croton Point Park, and then back.  It is a relatively flat course/smooth surface with some low car traffic, but it is mostly car-free.  It features fresh air and wonderful views of the Hudson River.  It is my favorite end-of-day run just before the sun sets.  [Note: Add on additional miles by running into and around beautiful Croton Point Park.]
I usually park on South Riverside Avenue in Croton (e.g., near the Tavern) and walk over the overpass. Start at the foot of the stairs. Head north on road passing the yacht club into Croton Landing. In the park, follow the path along water until the turnaround (~.8 miles) return to start (~1.6 miles). Then, head south passing Senasqua Park until you near the parking lot at the south end of Elliott Way. Follow bike route signs to the left underneath the overpass. Watch for bikes – few blind turns. Follow that route which runs along Half Moon Bay. It then leads you onto an elevated path that skirts Croton Point Park until you reach the main road (Croton Point Ave.) that leads into the park (~3.1 miles). Stop and return the way you came for 10K. Note: I sometimes head into the park for additional beautiful and peaceful miles.
