“Hooked on Running” Scholarship essays now being accepted

The Taconic Road Runners Club believes that young people who are involved in the sport of running experience a healthy lifestyle and a high level of energy and self-confidence. In the spirit of a healthy race, graduating seniors from Northern Westchester and Putnam County are invited to apply for a $1,000 scholarship.  Four scholarships will be awarded.

 Your application must consist of:

• The 2012 “Hooked on Running” Scholarship Application Form (click to download).
• An essay (approximately 300 words) on how running has and will continue to affect your life
• Evidence of acceptance to a post-secondary school
• Letter of recommendation from a school faculty member or coach

Only applications including all of the above items will be considered.

Optional:

• You may include other information regarding your commitment to running that you would like us to consider

A single mailing containing your COMPLETE application must be postmarked by April 30, 2012, and sent to:
