Another Coogan’s 5k is in the history books. It seems to have been a hard day for a lot of people and a lot of teams, perhaps because of the weather (29 and windy), the crowded field, or the fact that virtually every team fielded multiple runners, intensifying the competition.

Having said that, I’d like to thank the women who ran yesterday’s race through the streets of Washington Heights: Suzanne La Burt (20:47, 2nd in age), Karen Davies (23:21, 10th in age), Kathleen Crowley, (24:56), Andrea Fortino, (25:03), Deb Kenney (25:233, 8th in age) Carol Hansen (26:31, 2nd in age), Cathy Groneman (26:35, 5th in age), Ruth Littmann (26:54,47th in age), and Margaret DeLuca (27:17, 28th in age).

Welcome back to Deb Kenney and congratulations to Margaret DeLuca, whose future daughter-in-law also ran the race. Congrats as well to Jane Lundy, whose son Conor (age 15) finished in 17:18 and was 4th in his age group.

Now for our women’s teams
The Open women finished 17th overall, due to the efforts of: Suzanne, Karen, Kathleen, Andrea and Deb.

The 40+ women finished 7th overall, thanks to Suzanne, Karen and Kathleen Crowley.

The 50+ women finished in 5th place, thanks to Karen, Kathleen and Deb.

The 60+ women did not score; they did not field a team, having only 2 runners.

I hope everyone has checked their calendars for the Scotland Run 10k on Saturday, April 6. Please register early!

Hope to see you all soon.
