This will be the last workout of the year at FDR Park so also it’s the last workout with beer, wine and food afterwards so come, take advantage and meet some of your fellow members. The workout can be run a little on the light side as there is a team race, the 5th Avenue Mile, the following Sunday the 13th. The workout is 5 x 2 minutes out and 2 minutes back with the goal being to get back to the exact starting point without looking at your watch after the turnaround. A secondary goal is to go slightly further on each successive repeat.
I would also like the runners to practice what I call “relax faster” each time on the way back. This will mean that while ratcheting up the effort on the way back and also on each successive repeat you should also try to stay totally relaxed.
Those racing the 5th Avenue Mile should only run 4 repeats.
