This week’s workout will be held at the Yorktown HS track and is also run in conjunction with the
monthly meeting. We’ll start at 5:45PM but I will stay a little later
for those of you who can’t make it by 5:45. The track is to the east of
FDR Park and I believe & hope that Greg Cohen will put up a map on
the www.runner.org
site. Park on the high school side of the school property and the
track is in the southwestern part of that school property. It can’t be
seen easily until you get out of your car.
Also this month we have the Beer Mile www.runner.org/beer/ at 7PM at Parking lot 6 in FDR Park. You can do both & will be able to use the speed work as your warm-up (run at a modest effort) and make it over to the 7PM start at Parking Lot 6 which is also next to where the monthly meeting is held. It should be a lot of fun whether you decide to be a participant or a spectator. It’s byob and yes it can be non-alcholic beer. The club will supply free refreshments at the meeting.
This one workout will give you a small edge for the upcoming Peekskill Mile www.runner.org/pbmile/ on Aug 14th. The workout is 4 x 400m (1 lap) with a full lap recovery
and 4 x 200m with a half lap recovery. If you can repeat this workout on
your own or with friends for the next four weekends it will
significantly improve your mile time at the Peekskill Mile.
