We are saddened to share the passing of longtime Taconic Road Runners member Bob Daubenbis, who left us on February 12, 2025, at the age of 68. Bob was a dedicated runner and an integral part of our community, always ready with an encouraging word at the starting line and a smile at the finish. Whether he was racing through the scenic courses of Westchester or simply enjoying a steady-paced long run with friends, Bob embodied the camaraderie and passion that make our club special.
Beyond running, Bob led a full and adventurous life. Born on Long Island and raised in Dobbs Ferry, he graduated in 1975 and pursued a career that spanned commercial finance, small business ownership, and work with UPS. He found joy not only in running but also in biking—especially mountain biking—canoeing, golfing, traveling, and spending time outdoors. He cherished his family above all, especially his beloved granddaughter, Sage Emma, and his daughter, Kristen.
Bob’s spirit of generosity, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to those he loved made a lasting impact. His dry sense of humor and willingness to help others will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Details about Bob life are shared from his obituary, and we extend our deepest sympathies to his wife of 42 years, Janet, his daughter Kristen and her family, and all who loved him.
Bob, may you find smooth roads and endless trails ahead. You will be missed.
