The UEC is a 10k race hosted by the Van Cortlandt Track Club that takes runners through all of the undiscovered trails through Van Cortlandt Park. This race is always fun and runners can expect to get a little muddy, with the odd stream crossing (log bridge optional) but it’s a great introduction to trail running! The race will be on April 3rd at 10:00 AM and will start at the Tortoise and the Hare statue in Van Cortlandt Park on Broadway (only steps from the 242nd St. stop on the #1 subway). Hope you can join us! You can register at the link below. Register soon as we expect to cap this race because the trails can’t accommodate too many runners. Fast runners with too many plastic trophies need not fear. Prizes are the best carrot cakes in the city, (from the famous www.lloydscarrotcake.com) given to top 3 places in all male and female age groups. See the website for more details and a video of last year’s race. Hope to see you all there!
