The Women’s Run: Flat, Fast, and FUN!
The sixth annual MHRRC Women’s Run takes place on Saturday, May 20, on the Dutchess County Rail Trail in Wappingers.
This female-friendly event, which starts and ends at the Van Wyck Lane trailhead, is perfect for new runners or those who are looking to move up to a longer race distance. Two races — a 5K and a 10K — are included; both take place entirely on the flat, paved, and shady rail trail. Runners who are taking part in their first 5K, or who have been running for less than one year, receive a special “First 5K” medal when they complete the course. And this 10K is ideal for those who have done a few 5Ks and are ready to move “up the ladder” to something a bit more challenging. After your run, enjoy refreshments courtesy of Adams Fairacre Farms and My Brother Bobby’s Salsa. And the race tee shirts, with their distinctive logo, are legendary.
Online registration is just $25 at www.mhrrc.org. For more information, email race director Polly Sparling atpts4257@aol.com.
